Dolphin Cake

Beach cakes are always a pleasure to make. Maybe it is that I live to close to sandy white beaches that the water seems to constantly calling my name and these cakes make me feel a bit closer to some fun in the sun. Either way, I am a water lover and water themed cakes are always on my fun list. This one has the dolphin from yesterday in it. There is buttercream 'seaweed' and 'coral' piped on the bottom. I think the hardest part was the messy blue frosting. I am a smoother. Sometimes I smooth to the point I have to put on more frosting. So making it messy was a struggle. Either way I liked the way it turned out. The seaweed 5 was a last minute addition but I think it completes it well.
